South Tampa Immediate Care is an approved urgent care provider in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) network. For years, we’ve been providing outstanding health care services to members of the Tampa, Florida, community, and we are proud to extend those services to veterans.

Urgent Care Services Covered by VA Insurance

The MISSION Act, which was passed on June 6, 2019, gives veterans the option to visit urgent care centers within the VA network of community providers, such as South Tampa Immediate Care, and use their VA insurance to receive urgent care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, such as:

  • Headaches and migraines
  • Minor bone fractures
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Poison ivy and other skin rashes
  • Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Sore throats and strep throat
  • Sprains and strains
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and bladder infections

South Tampa Immediate Care provides prompt and effective treatments for these and other non-emergency medical conditions. We also offer flu shots, and we have an in-house lab and on-site X-ray technology, allowing us to expedite the diagnostic process in many instances.

Urgent Care Services Not Covered by VA Insurance

Currently, the MISSION Act does not cover preventive care, such as immunizations, physical examinations, and wellness check-ups, nor does it cover urgent care services for a veteran’s spouse or other family members. However, South Tampa Immediate Care accepts most major health insurance plans, and we also have an affordable rate schedule for self-paying patients.
